Health Works for Cornwall has received investment from;
- the European Union’s European Social Fund (ESF)
and
- Cornwall Council
to deliver this programme for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The programme is supporting 5,500
- unemployed
- or economically inactive individuals,
who have health-related barriers towards employment.
Health Works for Cornwall is developing;
- collaborative
- and innovative solutions
to address the underlying key challenges of;
- breaking the cycle of ill health
- and/or reliance on benefits
that can lead to issues such as;
- low earnings
- household income issues
- long term unemployment
- poverty
- and debt
This is an employment support programme, with the principal goal to progress participants into work.
The programme started in July 2020 and will run until December 2023.
Cornwall Development Company (CDC) is leading a partnership of 10 local organisations.
All have been chosen because of their;
- expertise
and
- experience in running programmes with the identified target groups
Lessons learnt from previous projects have informed the project delivery model.
This consists of;
- highly targeted inventions
- general provision
- tried and tested techniques
- brand new initiatives
to maximise the impact and effectiveness of the project.
Health Works for Cornwall is supporting eligible individuals by:
- Providing access to a menu of specialist support and training options personalised for the participant and their needs
- Matching them with suitable partner organisations who have been specifically selected due to their expertise and decades of experience
- Providing 1-2-1 dedicated mentoring
- Offering financial help to support with costs such as travel, interview clothing and childcare
- Arranging in-work support to help “trouble-shoot” any issues and sustain employment
