and

  • Cornwall Council

to deliver this programme for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The programme is supporting 5,500

who have health-related barriers towards employment.

Health Works for Cornwall is developing;

  • collaborative

to address the underlying key challenges of;

  • breaking the cycle of ill health
  • and/or reliance on benefits

that can lead to issues such as;

  • low earnings
  • household income issues
  • long term unemployment
  • poverty
  • and debt

This is an employment support programme, with the principal goal to progress participants into work.

The programme started in July 2020 and will run until December 2023.

Cornwall Development Company (CDC) is leading a partnership of 10 local organisations.

All have been chosen because of their;

  • expertise

and

  • experience in running programmes with the identified target groups

Lessons learnt from previous projects have informed the project delivery model.

This consists of;

  • highly targeted inventions
  • general provision
  • tried and tested techniques
  • brand new initiatives

to maximise the impact and effectiveness of the project.

Health Works for Cornwall is supporting eligible individuals by:

  • Matching them with suitable partner organisations who have been specifically selected due to their expertise and decades of experience
  • Providing 1-2-1 dedicated mentoring
  • Offering financial help to support with costs such as travel, interview clothing and childcare
  • Arranging in-work support to help “trouble-shoot” any issues and sustain employment
