Economy Monitoring Quarterly Update (EMQU)

The EMQU is a quarterly report looking at the state of the economy

across Cornwall
the wider United Kingdom
and on an international basis.

The report sets out a number of indicators in areas such as the labour market, economic output and housing. It is worth noting that a number of indicators are issued only on an annual basis.

This document sets out the headline figures and changes between the quarterly EMQU reports.

Trade in Goods and Services

This report is an analysis of goods trade data for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly compared to the United Kingdom.

The data provided by HMRC allows us to develop a baseline understanding of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly’s trade patterns. It also allows us to monitor this important performance indicator of our local economy over time.

A series of economic profiles for Cornwall’s major towns were produced in September 2021.
