Review of premises licences

Once a premises licence or club premises certificate has been granted it will last for the life of the business.

However if a Responsible Authority or Other Person feels that the operation of the premises is undermining one or more of the licensing objectives at any time they can submit an application for review of the premises licence to the Council.

An other person is any individual, body or business, regardless of their geographic proximity to the premises or club premises. Responsible Authorities are the:

  • Police
  • Fire Brigade
  • Health and Safety
  • Environmental Health
  • Planning
  • Trading Standards
  • Local Safeguarding Children Board
  • Public Health Authority
  • Licensing Authority (Compliance)

Review of premises licence following closure order 

Once a premises licence or club premises certificate has been granted it will last for the life of the business.

However, if the Court issue a Closure Order in relation to a premises the Council is required to review the premises licence / club premises certificate. Any Responsible Authority or Other Person that feels that the operation of the premises is undermining one or more of the licensing objectives can make a representation to the Council.

An other person is any individual, body or business, regardless of their geographic proximity to the premises or club premises. Responsible Authorities are the:

  • Police,
  • Fire Brigade,
  • Health and Safety,
  • Environmental Health,
  • Planning,
  • Trading Standards,
  • the Local Safeguarding Children Board,
  • Public Health Authority
  • and Licensing Authority (Compliance).

The notices of those premises currently being reviewed following a Closure Order are available on this page. If there are no notices listed, there are no review applications pending.
