It’s easier than ever to apply for a new role in Cornwall’s care sector.
There are currently 125 jobs being advertised on the Proud To Care Cornwall website ranging from care home managers and personal assistants, to support workers.
The Proud To Care Cornwall website has recently been redesigned to make it easier to find the right job. This short video demonstrates how easy it is to find the right role for you.
Cllr Andy Virr, Lead Cornwall Council cabinet member for adult social care and health said:
“At the beginning of a new year we can often find ourselves looking for a new challenge or a change of some sort. A new job or career can be a great way to make a new start and perhaps find a role that you are more suited to and gives you that rewarding feeling of helping others too.”
Emma O’Reilly, manager at Network Healthcare said:
“‘We are looking for people with good communication skills who are kind natured, genuinely care and want to help people. They are coming to us not just for a job, but because they want to make a difference’
“Depending on the roles available we don’t necessarily need people with experience. We can also accommodate people who don’t drive and those who can only work school hours. Come and give it a go and see if it’s for you.”
Cllr Virr added:
“You’d be making a huge difference to someone’s life, as well as helping to ease the pressures on our care system. I’d urge anyone who is thinking about it to get onto the website and make some enquiries. You could be helping yourself towards a very positive career change, as well as helping Cornwall and its most vulnerable residents.”
You can find out more about what it’s like to work in care, and meet employers face to face at an event taking place in Penzance later this month. You can find out more by visiting the event webpage
