A new service ‘Proud to Care at Home’ has been launched which carefully matches people to care roles that support someone at home with their care and support needs.
Proud to Care Cornwall has teamed up with attraction and retention specialist Just R to explore new ways of supporting people into care sector roles.
Instead of people having to search for the right role themselves, they can apply through the Proud to Care at Home Facebook page. Once that application has been processed someone will get in touch to talk through your needs and help match you up with the right role.
Cornwall Council cabinet member for adult social care and health Cllr Andy Virr said:
“The Proud to Care Cornwall team are looking at lots of different ways to attract people into a care role and this service takes some of the guess work out of it for applicants. A specialist will look at all your information, such as where you live, whether you drive, what experience you have, and try to match you up with the best available role for you.
“I think it’s important to test out different recruitment strategies so that we can maximise our chances of recruitment. For anyone interested in care but isn’t sure where to start then this service can really help.”
Just R’s Founder and CEO, Rachael Bagshaw said:
“We are honoured to be working with Cornwall Council on this important project. Our expert team is dedicated to helping organisations attract for today and inspire for tomorrow.
“Just R are on a mission to help solve the workforce crisis in healthcare across the UK, and it really does start with social care and Councils welcoming an innovative approach to recruitment - truly necessary at this critical moment in time.”
As part of the trial, people are initially matched with a role in Corserv Care’s home care service, which helps people with their care and support so they can live independent lives in their own home.
Corserv Care Managing Director, Alison Waller said:
“Recruiting and retaining the right people into care roles is so important to deliver high standard, personalised care and support within Corserv Care. For us, it’s all about people’s attitudes and values as we can provide all the training and qualifications required.
“We believe in working in partnership to empower people to live independently, and encourage people who want a role where they can enjoy flexibility, learn new skills and really make a difference to people’s lives to find out more about us. We’re looking forward to hearing from people and welcoming them to the business!”
