No changes to rubbish and recycling collections over the festive season

No changes to the rubbish and recycling collections this festive season, graphic of houses and rubbish

There’s one less thing to think about over the festive period as kerbside rubbish and recycling collections in Cornwall will not be affected.

Monday 27, Tuesday 28 December 2021 and Monday 03 January 2022 are bank holidays, but rubbish and recycling will be collected as usual.

Except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, the Household Waste and Recycling Centres will be open from 9am to 4pm throughout the festive period.

Cornwall Council portfolio holder for neighbourhoods Carol Mould said: “Our crews will be out as usual over the festive bank holidays, and I want to thank them for all they do and for their hard work over the last year.  They really have been heroes working on the front line during the pandemic.”

It’s also included in the annual service leaflet, which is being delivered to every home in Cornwall in time for Christmas.
