Breastfeeding Peer Support in Cornwall

  • Led by trained Breastfeeding Peer Supporters who have breastfed / chest fed their own children

We want to empower you to feel confident in feeding your baby, no matter how much breastmilk they have or how you do it.

We are here for you!

Your Midwife and Health Visitor will also help you with breastfeeding, if in doubt, please ask.

Breastfeeding Peer Support on Facebook

Our Breastfeeding Support in Cornwall Facebook group is run by:

  • the Infant Feeding Peer Support Coordinator team, and
  • the Breastfeeding Peer Support volunteers

They can answer your queries and offer evidence-based information. They also support the community of breastfeeding families across Cornwall.

Join the Facebook group

  • The Peer Supporter will keep your queries confidential. We ask that you do not share the information in this group anywhere else
  • Safeguarding concerns will be referred to a safeguarding officer
  • Please agree to the group rules before participating, thank you
  • This group is for socialising with other parents, sharing information and supporting each other. So please be kind, be courteous, be supportive
  • Do you have concerns that you wish to be addressed by the page admins (the Peer Support Coordinators)? If so, please click the dots in the top right hand corner of the post
  • Anything deemed unacceptable will be deleted
  • Any breach of these guidelines may result in you being removed from the group
  • Your posts and comments will not be stored on any Council servers. For information on Cornwall Council data view how we use your information to provide services.

Community Based Drop-in Groups

Our groups run at various locations across Cornwall and aim to offer support with breastfeeding and enable you to meet other breastfeeding parents in a friendly and relaxed environment. They are led by trained Breastfeeding Peer Support volunteers and supported by the local health visiting teams.

Everyone who is giving breastmilk to their child or planning to do so in future is welcome. Attending our groups whilst pregnant is encouraged to help you get breastfeeding off to the best possible start.

You are warmly welcomed to drop in to our groups. You can view the days, times and locations using the links below.  You don't have to prebook, but you can if you wish to using the link in the blue button. Families who drop in will be able to register their details at group. All data collected is held within GDPR guidelines.
