Cornwall Council owns more than 10,000 homes. These homes are funded and managed within a housing revenue account (HRA).
There has never been a more important time to support our tenants through the cost-of-living crisis. The lower cost of renting our homes makes a big difference to their lives. We have plans in place to improve the quality of our homes and make sure that tenants are safe in their homes. We also aim to provide new housing for thousands of people seeking our help to find the right type of home.
There is a statutory duty to set a HRA budget. The Council sets the rents for tenants every year in line with Government policy. The maintenance of existing homes, services to tenants and building new homes is paid for from rents.
