Please contact the Homeless Accommodation Team on 0300 1234 161 or homelessness.accommodation@cornwall.gov.uk .
I need help to understand a bill for temporary accommodation
The homeless accommodation team can explain your charges. You can ask credit management about how to pay a bill or to agree a payment plan. You can contact them on: cmanage@cornwall.gov.uk.
If you have questions about your housing benefit claim, contact Housing Benefit on their online form or call them on 0300 1234 121.
What happens if I break the terms and conditions of my accommodation?
We may not provide you any further accommodation if:
- You refuse a suitable offer
- You stop using the accommodation
- You are evicted from the accommodation
You must let us know if you plan to spend any nights away from the accommodation.
What happens when I leave temporary accommodation?
You must notify us. If you do not let us know, we may still be charging you.
You must not leave anything behind, and we could charge you if there is any damage.
Moving on from temporary accommodation
I am in temporary accommodation under the main housing duty. What happens next?
You cannot rely on being successful on Homechoice. The Move-on Team will continue to work with you on your personal housing plan. The aim is to find you a home in the private rented sector or on Homechoice.
You must continue to follow the steps that you have agreed to. We can help you with a deposit, and rent in advance, to move into private rented accommodation.
You can contact us on moveon.support@cornwallhousing.org.uk
I have a problem with my Homechoice bidding
Contact the Homechoice team on homechoice.duty@cornwallhousing.org.uk.
I have found a property to move to, what do I do?
Please contact the Move On support team, and we can help you.
We will help you to check that it is affordable and suitable for you and if so, support you to move in.
