Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service and Isles of Scilly Fire and Rescue Service has:
- established a joint Local Pension Board (LPB)
Role of the Local Pension Board
The role of this is to;
- Assist Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Fire and Rescue Services as Scheme Managers –
- to secure compliance. This includes the governance and administration of the Firefighters' Pensions Scheme (FPS)
- to secure compliance with requirements imposed the Pensions Regulator
- in such other matters as the FPS regulations may specify.
- Secure the effective and efficient governance and administration of the FPS
- Provide the Scheme Manager with information as it requires. Ensuring that any member of the LPB or an appointed person does not have a conflict of interest
The Board carries out an oversight function. This ensures that such decisions are compliant with regulations, guidance and internal policies.
