Come and be part of our new People Commissioning Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join and help build a new integrated people commissioning function at Cornwall Council. It will really influence the shape of Cornwall’s social care services for the future.
We are one of the largest unitary Councils and we are creating a new function that supports both Children's and Adult Care Services. Cornwall has an ambitious programme of transformational commissioning. We are building a team of innovative and highly-motivated people who will enable us to build vibrant, safe and supportive communities.
There are many new opportunities across the People Commissioning function. Both for people interested in building a career in public services and social care as well as opportunities for those who have lots more experience.
We have a number of roles that will lead on a broad set of functions below:-
- Establishing strategic commissioning and the intelligent client function for the Council across the delivery of People service
- Leading on driving innovation and excellence in service delivery
- Managing patterns of demand differently to improve outcomes
- Establishing strong and effective partnerships to commission services jointly across with health, housing and other providers.
- Leading the strategic transformation and reshaping of services over the medium to longer term
- Co-designing services with the people who use them and their families. Understanding their expert experience and involving them in a way that means they have access to the support they want and need.
- Working closely with providers to help them be the best that they can. Not only delivering excellent services but also supporting them to deliver added social, economic and environmental value to the Cornish economy.
