About our Culture Team

Our ambition is for Cornwall to be the leading rural creative economy. We work in collaboration to support and grow the creative and cultural sector. We aim to improve the economic, social and cultural well-being of all communities across Cornwall. We are part of the Council’s Culture, Leisure and Libraries within Neighbourhoods.

Our role is to support and advocate our distinct Cornish creative and cultural sectors. Our current portfolio of investments includes various cultural and creative projects across Cornwall.

We have developed our Creative Manifesto. This strategy outlines and explains our priorities and plans for the next five years.

The Culture Team wants to ensure that as many residents as possible in Cornwall can enjoy a great cultural and creative offer. We also support cultural organisations, creative industries and creative individuals to thrive in Cornwall. Kresen Kernow and the Cornish Language Office are also part of our team:

  • Kresen Kernow
Kresen Kernow is home to the world’s largest collection of documents, books, maps and photographs related to Cornwall’s history. Everyone is welcome to visit and explore these amazing collections
  • The Cornish Language Office.
The Cornish Language Office is responsible for increasing the use of Cornish in the work of the Council. It gives advice to organisations who want to use Cornish and coordinating projects in the community

We invest in museums across Cornwall. We work closely with Cornwall Museums Partnership. We also have connections with:
