The Newquay Cornwall Airport (NCA) Local Development Order (LDO)
The NCA LDO is as a facilitative and enabling tool. It allows the airport to react to business requirements on a level playing field.
Before the Order, operational development needed planning permission regardless of need and size. This was authorised development through Classes F-N. These Classes form part of the following order:
In recent years, airport development activity was focused on the transfer of functions. This was from the former RAF St. Mawgan air base.
Any development within its site boundary required a planning application. This is, regardless of need and size.
