Neighbourhood Development Plans Made

Neighbourhood Development Plans (NDPs) form part of the development plan for Cornwall. They are often referred to as 'adopted plans'.

Each of the adopted NDPs have been through all statutory stages of neighbourhood plan making.  This is in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).  Stages include:

  1. Area designation
  2. Pre-submission consultation
  3. Legal compliance check
  4. Public consultation
  5. Examination
  6. Plan proposal decision

Made NDPs are supported by more than half of those voting at referendum in the relevant plan areas.

These plans are therefore made and used, as part of the Development Plan for Cornwall, in planning decisions.  Section 38A(4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 applies.

Development Management use NDP policies in assessing and determining planning applications. Specific NDPs are used for planning applications located within the specific plan areas. They are used in combination with national and local strategic policies.

Individual decision notices are available for each individual plan.  You can request a copy by emailing:
