School allocation: You will get an email with a link to your outcome letter.
- The letter will tell you:
- the outcome of your application;
- you need to confirm in writing if the place is no longer required;
- you need to contact the school (if one has been allocated) within two weeks to arrange a start date;
- what you can do if you did not get one of your preferred schools.
Contacting the new school:
- You must contact the school within two school weeks of the date on your letter. If you do not do this the offer may be withdrawn.
- You will need to arrange the start date with the new school.
Change of circumstances:
- If things change after a place has been allocated:
- you must notify us in writing if you no longer require the place;
- you will need to reapply for a place if you want a different school; and
- the offer of a place at the allocated school may be withdrawn; and
- you should note that you may not be able to reapply for a place at the same school within the same academic year.
- We may need to check with you how your child will be receiving an education.
Admission appeals:
- If you have been refused a place at one of your preferred schools you can submit an appeal. There is more information here: cornwall.gov.uk/schoolappeals
Waiting lists:
- If you have been refused a place at one of your preferred schools you will automatically be added to the waiting list for that school, if one is held. There is more information here: Waiting Lists
Applying/appealing again:
You can only apply again for the same school in the same academic year if:
- there has been a significant change in circumstances for your child; or
- there has been a significant change in circumstances for the school.
You can only appeal again if:
- the admission authority accepted another application; and
- you were refused the place again.
