Home to School and Post-16 Travel

When accessing education, young people should be supported to walk, cycle or use public transport as the default.  There are health benefits for children in walking or cycling to school.  Local communities also benefit through improved road safety, reduced traffic congestion and associated noise and air pollution.

Where required, travel assistance is provided by the Transport Coordination Service.

Our aim is to promote independence to help prepare children for adulthood and to deliver on providing a good quality service for those young people who need it, whilst balancing costs to ensure the most efficient use of resources.
