All vehicles owned by Cornwall Council have fully comprehensive insurance cover via Zurich Municipal. The Council self insures for the first £150,000 of each and every claim.
Any organisation using a Cornwall Council owned vehicle is responsible for the first £250 of each and every claim. Even if you believe an accident to be the fault of a third party you will still be liable for the first £250 of the claim. If the Council is successful in reclaiming its costs then the £250 will be reimbursed accordingly.
All repairs to Cornwall Council owned vehicles must be completed within 6 months for an insurance claim to be processed. Some exceptions may be considered.
