The majority of resident parking permit types also allow the holder to apply for parking for visitors as well.
You will be able to see on the individual permit application forms if visitor permits are available and how to apply.
Types of visitor permits
Visitor permits are available to buy in two ways:
1. To apply for electronic visitor permits please enter your post code and address on the resident parking permit page. You will be able to apply for visitor permits online once you have set up an account, which is quick and easy to do. These permits are electronic and are booked online through your resident permit account.
2. You can buy books of ten daily permits (paper scratchcards) which cost £10.
These are available from the Parking Permit team, who will post them to you. This must be displayed in the vehicle.
You can buy a selection of either option, but;
- you can only buy the maximum total that you are allowed for your zone.
Maximum visitor permit numbers are listed in the Resident parking scheme Terms and Conditions.
How to apply for a visitor permit
The first time you apply (scratchcards and electronic sessions):
- Check to see if you are eligible to buy visitor permits by visiting the resident parking permit page. Enter your postcode to check you are eligible.
- If you are, the quickest way to apply is online. Alternatively, if you would like paper scratchcards, contact the Permit team to ask for a form to be posted to you.
- You can still buy a visitor permit if you are an eligible resident in a zone but don't have a full residents disabled permit.
- You will need to apply either online for electronic permits or by completing the application form and providing the necessary evidence.
