Health visiting and school nursing


Delivering NHS services for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly

We are your local Health Visiting and School nursing Team. We are made up of Registered Nurses and midwives. We have completed extra public health nursing qualifications at Degree and Masters level to become Health Visitors or School Nurses. We also have Registered Nurses and Family Health Workers. They also have qualifications and competencies in working in Public Health Nursing Teams with children and families. We provide services on behalf of Cornwall Council and the Council of the Isles of Scilly.

We lead the healthy child programme for all families in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Providing health and development reviews, health promotion, health protection and health improvement. We provide support for your unique needs. We work closely with:

  • midwives
  • GP’s
  • hospitals
  • mental health services
  • education
  • early years
  • family hubs
  • children’s services
  • specialist services

A health professional can offer you general advice and support or put you in touch with your health visitor or school nurse. If the line is busy you will be able to leave a message and we will call you back. We are open Monday to Friday 9-5pm.
